Women in Saudi Arabia have always faced unique challenges when it comes to their individual rights and opportunities. Breaking away from the traditional gender roles that limit the progress of women in other countries, women in the Kingdom have steadily been making breakthroughs in the public and professional spheres. In recent years, women have been granted greater access to public services, increased job opportunities and improved education.

Women in Saudi Arabia have long fought for the right to better representation and rights in society, including the right to work, the right to education, and even the right to drive. For example, in 2018, women were granted the right to drive for the first time in the country’s history. This opened up a whole range of new job opportunities for women, as well as allowing them to have more freedom of movement and greater independence.
